Manjimup ESC is located at Manjimup Primary School and Manjimup Senior High School and caters for students from years 1 to 12 who have an intellectual disability. The centre is a separate school with its own resourcing and staffing but is located on the regular school sites to allow for inclusion.

To enhance the educational and life options for students with disabilities is an ongoing priority. It is the policy of the school to maximize the opportunities for its students to socialize and learn together. All students at the centre are included in classes in the primary school and choose subjects in the high school.

Students are not all the same when they come to school. They bring with them a range of personal experiences, talents, and social attributes that affect learning. These experiences and attributes reflect the broader diversity of our community and provide benefits to all members of the school community. Inclusivity engenders acceptance and provides opportunities to value and learn from the contributions and unique understandings of all.

As part of this process members of the Education Support Centre staff are located on site to assist teachers and students to participate in the whole school community. Special Education incorporates proven methods of teaching from which all children can benefit; it assumes human differences are normal and that learning must be adapted to the needs of the child, rather than the child fitted to the process. Manjimup ESC provides extensive teaching and learning programs that meet the needs of individuals while ensuring inclusion in the wider school and local community.

Manjimup Education Support Centre was the first Centre in Western Australia to cater for students from years 1 to 12 across two school sites. This model is now being adopted by other districts and is seen as an ideal way to provide improved services to country students who have an intellectual disability.

The teachers provide a large range of programs including the TEACCH program, Vocational Education and Training, LOTE, PECS language program, Makaton and Structured Work-based Learning.

Disability Services Commission and Warren Blackwood Health Services provide therapy services to the students including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. DSC also funds a Therapy Assistant to deliver therapy programs in the school.

2006 has seen the completion of a new Primary School and Education Support Centre on the Manjimup Senior High School site. This incorporates the only Kindergarten to University campus in Western Australia and will provide increased opportunities for all students.
