| Djugerari Remote Community School is located in Djugerari Community, approximately 110kms South, South East of Fitzroy Crossing. Djugerari Community is located on Cherrabun Station. The traditional language of Djugerari Community is Walmajarri. All students speak English as a second language, often speaking in Kriol and Aboriginal English. The school has a Walmajarri language programme in place. Djugerari Remote Community School has a 100 percent Aboriginal enrolment. There are two classes, Kindergarten, PP to Year Four and Years Four to Seven. The school is well resourced, particularly with technology. The school site is relatively small comprising 2 classrooms, office, ablution block, small store room and two garden sheds. One classroom also comprises the school library and teacher resource area. The other classroom comprises a food preparation area, fridges, oven and sink. Both classrooms and office are air cconditioned. The school grounds are well maintained with provision of a shade structure, sand pit, playground and plenty of trees and grass. The Djugerari School Council, comprising of staff and community members, meets regularly to make decisions on most aspects of the school's operations. The school enjoys good community support. The Djugerari RCS staff comprises 2 teaching staff, (teaching Principal and one teacher). Registrar, AIEO, 2 teacher part time assistants, a cleaner and a gardener. The school has a focus on literacy, numeracy, health, pastoral care and a emphasis on the recognition and promotion of English as a second language. | ||
