Location:
Approximately 80 kilometres south west of Perth. The school is situated on the Peel Education and Training Campus alongside Mandurah Senior College, Challenger TAFE and Murdoch University. It is regarded as a country school, but has metropolitan advantages. The school population is drawn from a wide area, which encompasses Dwellingup to the south and Golden Bay to the north.

History:
In 1986 an Education Support Unity for students in years 8 to 12 was opened on the Mandurah Senior High School campus. This rapidly expanded to two units. By 1996 the student population had grown to 28 and the unit became a centre. In 2001 as a result of local area education planning in the Peel District, the centre was renamed Career Enterprise Centre, and moved to the new PET Campus. For 2001 only, a year 10 satellite class continued to operate at the old site of Mandurah High School.

Accommodation:
The Principal and Registrar's offices are situated in the main administration building. Classrooms FG03, FG04 and FG05 are situated on Learning Street. A disabled bathroom facility, laundry and storeroom are juxtaposed to the classrooms. One Transportable classroom is set up as a kitchen facility.

Special Features:
Industrial standard horticulture facilities and workshop is available to our students. There is a shed to house the school bus.

Nationally Recognised Qualifications

All students participate in Enterprise Vocational Education (EVE).

Vocational courses offered:
Certificate III Companion Animal Services;
Introduction, Certificate I Rural Operations (with a Horticulture focus);
Certificate I Seafood Industry Fishing Operations;
Introduction, Certificate I Hospitality and Kitchen Operations;
Also Introduction and Certificate I General Education for Adults.

These courses are taught collaboratively with TAFE and provide our students with a certificate displaying the National Training Competencies they have achieved from Challenger TAFE. Student achievement of these competencies is also recognised by the Curriculum Council of WA.

Structured Work Place Learning

All students participate in a work experience program. Students enrolled in the Vocational Education Programs are required to do their work experience linked to the TAFE course they are enrolled in. During the work placement they are assessed against a generic work skills list of criteria. Success in a work experience position can lead to School Based Traineeships, part time employment, or permanent employment upon leaving school.

Curriculum Designed For Success

Numeracy, literacy & technology skills are developed through our practical enterprise projects. Social skills, community awareness & life skills are developed through involvement in work experience & community projects such as Coast Care & Land Care.

Individual Education Plans

Parents assist the school & relevant others in developing programs which cater for their student's individual needs.

Camps & Leisure Sports
Healthy life style activities are encouraged through casual fitness programs and camps.

Graduation
Students, families & staff participate in this very important occasion, which we celebrate in style.
