| Burringurrah is a remote Aboriginal community situated 450km east of Carnarvon, 300km north west of Meekatharra and lies 450km south of the largest rock in the world 'Mount Augustus'. The population of the community varies from 200-500 people. The roads are mostly unsealed. Wet weather can cause road closures during the summer and months. This can affect student attendance; interrupt mail deliveries, store and fuel supplies and occasionally medical help. It is recommended for staff to have reliable 4WD's due to road conditions and for travel in and out of the community during holiday periods. A medical service operates within the community with a local nurse. A clinic and nurses' residence was built in March 2003. Doctor's planes fly from Carnarvon on a fortnightly basis and offer other services like dentist, physio etc. These services monitor student health on a regular basis. All students that attend the school reside within the community. The numbers of students attending can vary from week to week depending on cultural activities in the community.
