| Sunbury Downs College has a good student culture and many student run events that are encouraged and funded by the school. Sunbury Downs has a wonderful uniform, being an ex-student there I can say that when going to extracurricular activities where private school children also go I look just as nice if not nicer than them. (The school has a wonderful blazer option, and students can borrow them to take when representing the school or speaking at assemblies. The teachers at the school are very passionate about students getting the most out of their education and elect to stay back and run classes out of their own time. Recently a new flexible learning center was built for the school which offers open planned learning for students and a grant for new computers has been gained. The school buildings are well maintained and the grounds are attractive. The library is well stocked and a pleasant place to read, and the school has sport ovals and basketball courts. | Despite the school having increasing year 7 enrollments the current VCE classes are small so some classes cannot run, though the school minimizes this as much as they can. This should not effect the current year 7 group, but more the current year 9 group. However it should be rated that retention rates have improved drastically. The school is underfunded from the government because it is a small highschool. It is possible that the school will be merging with Sunbury Secondary soon. | The school has an excellent discipline policy and anti bullying policy. The ACE program has shown to be popular, it is an enhanced learning program that seeks to have year 10 students in it at year 11 standards. | ||
