Chandler Secondary College, founded in 1972, is located in Keysborough, within the City of Greater Dandenong. The College is a Years 7 - 12 co-educational school with an enrolment in 2007 of 495 students. Staff and Council pride themselves on having created and continuing to foster a caring school with a deep social conscience and commitment. College organization focuses on two Year 7-10 Sub-Schools and one VCE Sub-School. Sub-Schools are led by Co-ordinators and Assistant Co-ordinators and the curriculum is delivered by means of multi-disciplinary teams of teachers during Years 7 - 10. Extensive VCE Units of Study are offered and the College is at the forefront in Vocational Education Training (VET) with 14 different courses of study being conducted.

The Colleges guiding principle is to provide a quality education in a caring environment by developing each individual as a caring, concerned and contributing member of the community. Our students will develop independence, self-confidence and respect for others. They will leave the College able to successfully access either higher education or the workplace. The College aims to enable each individual to realise their full potential, both personally and academically.

Special features of the College include a Community Centre, which is used extensively during evenings and weekends and comprises an Olympic-sized Basketball arena and a 235 seat Theatre. Co-curricular activities include College Concert Band, Annual Arts Festival, Music Soires, Multicultural Corroboree, Executive Student Leadership Team, Whole College Productions, Intra- and Inter-College Sport, Camping Program, Peer Support, Student Representative Councils, Adult Reading Tutor Program, School Choir and Debating.
