Yarloop PS is situated approximately 130kms south of Perth, 2kms off the South West Highway. The school is nestled in an attractive bushland setting, with numerous trees and grassed playing areas.

Yarloop Primary School caters for the needs of students through the provision of a balanced curriculum and appropriate pastoral care strategies to ensure quality educational programs and effective school and community partnerships. The school is rich with information and communication technologies with at least 4 computers in each classroom with access to the Internet, a digital camera and a laser printer in each classroom, which are all used to enrich the curriculum. The school also provides wireless access from the Administration block allowing both staff and students access to network resources.

At Yarloop Primary School we have a strong focus on developing student leadership through camps, peer mediation programs and our student council. We use the curriculum to apply leadership attributes through values, social skills, and educational experiences.

The school has a Kindergarten Centre that caters for 4 year olds and four classrooms which cater for composite classes from P to 7. The Multi-Purpose Room houses the school library resources, computers, Internet and can be used as a general teaching area. During wet days children may utilise this area to eat lunch and stay out of the rain. The school has a co-operative arrangement with the Harvey Shire for the use of the Public Library. The Public Library is situated adjacent to the main Administration Block. After school the library is then opened for the general public. At the end of 2004, the new administration block arrived at school and has been in operation since the beginning of 2005.

Students numbers, K-7, are around 75 each year with some fluctuation. Generally four or five classes are formed with support teachers available to assist in both the Early Childhood area and the Middle/Upper Primary area.
