Located approximately 52 kilometres North East of Merredin in the Eastern Wheatbelt town of Westonia, Westonia Primary School is celebrating 90 years in the local community. The original school was established in 1914 with the new school building being opened in 1972. This school is a part of the Midlands Education District.

Enrolment currently stands at 18 students from Kindergarten to Year 7 with students being drawn from town and from surrounding farms. There is a school bus that operates to transport children to and from their farms. This country school is very well supported by the community and is located in the small yet richly resourced town of Westonia. The town boasts many sporting amenities including a town pool, recreation centre, oval, tennis courts and golf course.

A friendly and relaxed school atmosphere is enjoyed by the parents and students of Westonia Primary School. The school encourages open communication which has lead to strong parent - teacher partnerships. The school has a proactive and supportive School Council and P&C Association. The P&C has financially and physically supported the school with many projects throughout 2004 and 2005 including the purchase of a portable shade shelter, musical instruments, photocopier and a pre-primary shed. The school currently has a ratio of one computer to every two children, a situation that has been extensively supported by our school P & C.

Special programs offered include: Italian via Telematics (telephone / computer links to Perth based language teachers); and the licensed Radio Station ('88.0 FM On Your Dial') which is unique to Westonia PS. The students are encouraged to present items and music 'on air' which is transmitted live to the town and outlying areas. This program develops confidence in public speaking and a purpose for reading, writing, speaking and listening in all learning areas.

The staff members at Westonia Primary School are dedicated professionals who work with parents and the wider community to provide flexible educational opportunities for the students of Westonia Primary School.
