| Welcome to Westfield Park Primary School. Our school is situated in a very low lying area with a watercourse /swamp as its southern boundary. This area is an important environmental feature that is incorporated into the teaching and learning programs across the school. Students actively monitor the wetlands and provide up dated information through our school website. Community involvement in the school is important to staff and students. Our various programs and projects run with the involvement of community volunteers. Our School Based Community Liaison Officer is a part of our welcoming strategy for new students and their families as well as a coordinator for general community involvement in the school. Parents are encouraged to attend the regular assemblies and morning teas as well as the educational workshops held to keep parents informed and engaged in matters related to the school. We welcome parents and community members into classrooms and clubs programs as volunteers. Parents have their own cafe room in the school. Our staff place considerable emphasis on literacy and numeracy training. Both are priorities within the school. Trained specialists assist teachers to meet the needs of all students in the context of inclusive classrooms. The emotional and social development of our students is also an important priority. Various programs operate within the school to complement the general classroom teachers' programs. (Bluearth, Rainbows, SUPA Club and our Clubs program on Wednesdays) Staff members work to provide students with a stimulating and engaging learning environment where each student is valued and respected. The school prides itself in the physical education programs and activities offered and its integration of Information Technology across learning areas.
