| Watheroo Primary School is a lovely, small rural school surrounded by peaceful native vegetation and in the heart of the Central Midlands farmland. The school is located 38km north of Moora, on the Midlands Road. The school has a catchment area of approximately a 35km radius. Three buses service Watheroo Primary School, two of which link to the bus service to Central Midlands High School for secondary students. The students at Watheroo are predominantly from farming backgrounds or come from families employed in the local agricultural industry. Staffing at Watheroo Primary School is made up of active local community members; thus the school is an integral part of the community. Events that take place during the year at the school that involve community groups include the Lightning Carnival, Fun Run, Athletics Carnival and a Swimming Carnival. Excellent parent-teacher support is enjoyed through the open door communication policy. The P&C is extremely active with many parent organised social events and an enthusiastic school council. Watheroo Primary School has two classes that comprise a total enrolment of forty-eight students. The junior class has an attached wet area which is frequently utilised for a range of hands on activities. The senior room has an attached activity room and both rooms have access to a separate technology room. A key focus area for Watheroo Primary School is Social and Civic Responsibility. We hope to help students develop and grow as whole individuals in a caring and supportive environment. | ||||
