| SAFETY BAY PRIMARY SCHOOL 'Putting Children First' THE SCHOOL Safety Bay Primary School is located within the City of Rockingham, approximately 45 kms south of Perth. The school population of just under 520 children caters for students from Kindergarten (four year olds) through to Year 7 and includes two Education Support Units. Since first opening its doors at the Safety Bay Yacht Club in 1942, Safety Bay Primary School has enjoyed a strong and successful partnership with the local community. From these origins a strong relationship has been built through the attendance of successive generations of family members at our school. Its reputation for being a friendly, family-oriented school continues to this day. OUR PUPOSE Our purpose is to provide a safe and caring learning environment that encourages all to fulfil their potential. Staff work in collaborative learning teams based on the phases of schooling. Representatives from each of the collaborative groups meet regularly with members of the school leadership team to discuss curriculum issues and strategic direction for the school. Students: Prefects, Faction Captains, Junior Councillors.HISTORY: Safety Bay Primary School was first built in the 1940's. It has a 'T' shaped design (original) comprising nine classrooms in a weatherboard/asbestos cladding and tin roof. Two newer cluster blocks were built in the 1970's comprising six rooms each and including a large common area in the center. (At first semester 2006) | ||||
