Special Features of the School Two striking sculptures reflect the notion of one school with two schools at its heart. The primary school caters for students from kindergarten to Year 7 in a modern cluster design featuring four teaching blocks, multi-purpose covered area, library and the school administration block. Some classrooms are airconditioned as are the demountables on site. Tennis courts, large oval, covered assembly area and netball courts provide activity areas. The physical education program includes daily fitness to build skills and encourages students to be active and healthy. The school uses multi age grouping P to Year 7. The focus on values and pastoral care is reflected through the school's award winning BE PROUD program, now shared across campus. There is a strong focus on early intervention through the school based GOLD (Guided Oral Language Development) program. A Breakthrough Reading Program supports reluctant readers and parent and community involvement enables this to operate. The local community supports children to enhance the environment through the OSCAR (Our School Actively Recycling) program. School Decision Making and Consultation Processes Parents are represented through the P&C and School Council. They are members of the committees of the BE PROUD and OSCAR programs. The school encourages parents to be partners in their child's education and presents a wide range of information sessions and communication to keep them informed. | ||||
