| School Purpose The purpose of Pickering Brook Primary School is to provide a quality education which enables students to make a positive contribution to the local and wider community by achieving their academic, social and lifestyle goals. In order for us to achieve our purpose, we have the following aims: - To develop the individual interests and aptitude of students. - To encourage all students to reach their potential. - To develop respect for one's self and others. - To develop students educationally, socially and physically. - To enable students to contribute to the social, cultural and economic goals of the wider community. Pickering Brook Primary School was established in 1915 and has a proud heritage in a predominantly fruit growing area. Traditionally the school serviced this rural community with most children having some links to the orcharding industry. In recent times, the profile of the school has changed with approximately half the school population coming from outside the local area. The nature of the school is still very much that of a small country school. The parents are proud of their school and are very much involved in the day to day running of its programmes. The school caters for students from Kindergarten through to Year 7. The four classes are all of 'multi-aged' groups. There is a very strong sense of family in the feel of the school. Parents are most welcome to visit the school.
