Phoenix Primaray School is located south of Fremantle on the border of Hamilton Hill and Spearwood, just a short walk from beautiful Manning Lake. The extensive school grounds, including two grassed playing fields, are surrounded by lush native, shade trees. Facilities include two specially designed play areas which are available to the public out of school hours.

Phoenix Primary School has 234 students from 4 year old Kindergarten through to Year 7, including 15 Special Needs children who are catered for through our Education Support Unit and classroom integration. Our children come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds; approximately 20 nationalities are represented in the school population. Several former students have gone on to become national sporting stars in athletics, football and netball, engineers and university lecturers.

Phoenix is proud of the caring, nurturing environment we have developed over the years. Our participation in the Virtues Program, and more recently the National Values Education Program, ensures that our student welfare and happiness remains a high priority. Teachers work closely with our Learning Support Coordinator to ensure a high level of quality inclusion for our special needs students.

Our very experienced staff, including specialists in Music, Physical Education and LOTE (Italian), provide a well balanced curriculum for all our students. Phoenix also has a full time Getting it Right Numeracy (GiRN) specialist who works with teachers and students to improve numeracy skills.

Phoenix is very well resourced with an excellent Library, extensive computer network and equipment to support all Learning Areas. During 2006 Phoenix will be fitted with air conditioning thanks to the Investing in Our Schools Project.

We have a very active and supportive P&C who are committed to helping the school provide the very best learning environment for all our students.
