| Parkfield School is situated on Chapple Drive, Australind and is the most northern school of what is considered the Inner Bunbury Schools. The catchment area that the school supports is from Travers Drive and the areas to its North. Bus services transport students from Binningup, which at present is our most Northern catchment area. The school buildings are of a contemporary design, with learning blocks supporting three classrooms and a large wet area / activity and computer area. Specialist facilities are provided for the extensive music program and dance / drama program. Parkfield School was built in 1993 and due to a growing population and a positive reputation, the student population has grown to 636 full time students from Pre-Primary to year 7. The school also supports four kindergarten groups with a capacity of 80 students. The community surrounding the school is very supportive of the school's direction and parents play an integral part in school direction, policy and communication. The teaching staff tends to be quite stable with most teachers having between ten and twenty years of experience. The gender balance for the teaching staff is approximately 20% male and 80% female. The administration consists of a Principal, two Deputy Principals and two level three teachers. The Deputy roles are defined as Student Services and Teaching / Learning. The school has also appointed a Literacy Specialist and a Numeracy Specialist to work with teachers to develop classroom strategies within whole school approaches. This commenced in 2003. The four specialist areas supported by the school are: Japanese Language - Years 2 to 7. Dance/Drama - Years 1 to 7. Music - Years 1 to 7. Physical Education - Years 1 to 7 The School Council meets twice every term and has been integral in establishing a principles and values framework which guides the decision making processes at the school. They have informed school planning processes, drafted and endorsed school policy, questioned performance data and informed the school's Annual Report. Parents are very active in all areas of the school including buildings and grounds, technology, library and in the making of resources. The school computer network alows students access to banks of computers in collaborative areas. Three classes have access to 12 computers, all with access to the internet. The library also boasts a bank of computers for classroom use. The teaching staff work in collaborative teams, facilitated by specialist teachers, in order to support whole school approaches. The staff are committed to contemporary teaching and learning methods. The Pastoral Care Program has many components including a whole school approach to virtues, Circus, Peer support, Pizza with the Principal, Boys in Boots (Tap Dogs), Irish Dance Team, Jive Team and a common approach to behaviour management. | ||||

| The staff and good reputation of the school is highly commended. | Can't think of any | I think it is a great school. My two children have learnt so much and their attitude towards their teachers, peers and other people whom they meet I credit it not only to our parenting but also to the schools outstanding curriculum and to all the teaching staff. I would highly recommend Parkfield Primary School to everyone | ||
