| Munglinup Primary School is situated in a farming area between Esperance and Ravensthorpe. The mixture of experience and enthusiasm among the staff is paramount in meeting the needs of their students. Morning activities are focused on Literacy and Numeracy. The five afternoons in the week are devoted to the learning areas of Society and Environment, Health and Physical Education, Science, Technology and Enterprise and the Arts. The children in all years work together on Friday afternoons, on projects selected by them. As of 2005/2006, we are building a comprehensive vegetable garden. The staff incorporates cross curricular activities across the learning program to meet the interests and learning styles of all students. Japanese as the Language Other Than English is taught to Year 3 - 7 students. The school commenced operation in 1960. It consists of a school block with 3 classrooms, office and staffroom. The library is housed in a purpose-converted building and four storerooms provide adequate storage. A new office/Administration building was established in 2006. Pleasant trees and gardens surround the school. Parents and community members interact daily with the school providing both physical and financial support through the Parents and Citizens Association and the School Council. Parents and community members regularly assist in class programs. A fortnightly newsletter is published by the school and is a focus for the whole community. The link between community and the school promotes a positive educational experience for all students. | ||||
