| Leinster Primary School is located in the North of the Goldfields Education District. It is approximately 370 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie, serviced by roads of high quality. Leinster is one of 2 unique mining communities in Western Australia in that it is a 'closed' mining town with a population of approximately 650 permanent residents, the remainder of the workforce are on a 'Fly-In/Fly-Out' roster. Leinster is a level 4 Primary school with a significant cohort of secondary students studying via courses offered and supported by the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) in Perth. The primary school caters for years 1 through to 7 plus a full time pre-primary programme for 5-year-olds and kindergarten for 4-year-olds. In 2007 there are 15 students enrolled in years 8, 9 and 10. Currently we have 175 students enrolled in our school and ther is an upward trend in population growth. The prediction for 2008 is for a slight increase in student numbers. Leinster Primary School has a multicultural population which draws predominantly from Perth, New Zealand, South African countries, and Asia. The school serves BHP Billitons' Leinster Nickel Operations (LNO) and the Goldfields Mining Company with its Agnew Gold Mining operations. Predominantly residents of the town are those who work for BHP Billiton, Goldfields Mining Company or the contract maintenance and service companies. The school buildings are owned and supported by BHP Billiton. Both companies are very supportive of Leinster Primary School financially, materially and logistically and there are close ties between the companies and our school community which serves to enhance the quality of educational outcomes for our students. Parents are very supportive of the school with an active and engaged P&C and School Council. A unique feature is that often, both parents are able to bring students to school and are able to support their children and the school community in roles such as parent helpers or to carry out roles assisting with carnivals, other sporting events and school celebrations. At Leinster Primary School, we are committed to providing quality education in an inclusive, caring and supportive learning environment. The school provides a diversity of programs and opportunities for all children within a very safe, inclusive and unique physical environment, with a strong emphasis on student welfare and on developing students' skills in literacy, numeracy and Information Technology. Staff are committed, very professional and skilled in the delivery of all facets of our programming at Leinster Primary School and our support networks exist within a 'team' approach to organisation and learning across the student, staff and parent population. | ||||

| Leinster Primary school is everything a 'normal' primary school should be. Top teaching staff, excellent school principal and deputy. Students are taught a wide variety of subjects and are introduced to many wide and varied things. Living out here does not affect the children in any way and they are all quite adaptable to change. | Aside from the remoteness, the lacking of a high school teacher. Otherwise nothing noteworthy. | Leinster Primary is an excellent school and is very much an integral part of our community. | ||
