| Kondinin Primary School is located 280km south-east of Perth and is located within the Narrogin Education District. Kulin, 24 km south and Corrigin, 48km north-west are the neighbouring towns. The school services the families that live within the town and on surrounding farms. Most of the students live within the town while two major bus runs provide a service for students living out of the town.Demographics Kondinin has a current enrolment of 53 students and caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 7. Approximately 31.5 percent of the students attending Kondinin are Aboriginal. Class organisation is dependent on student numbers and the number of students in each age group. In 2007 the school formed three multi-aged classes: - Junior Class - Kindergarten / Preprimary / Year 1 class - Middle Class - Year 2 / 3 / 4 - Senior Class - Year 5 / 6 / 7 Staff Profile The staff at Kondinin Primary consist of the principal, one full-time teaching staff and 2 part-time teachers. In addition the school has a Learning Support Coordinator, part-time support teacher, DOTT relief and a LOTE (Indonesian) teacher who is shared between local schools. Being a small school, teachers have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the school outside the classroom. These opportunities include becoming a member of the School Council or taking on the role of a Cost Centre Manager or Leader. The non-teaching staff at Kondinin include two part-time teacher assistants (mainstream), two part-time teacher aides (special needs), a gardener / handyperson, a cleaner, a part-time school officer and a registrar.The School currently employs an Aboriginal Islander Education Officer for one day a week. Buildings and Grounds The school is comprised of one main 'L' shaped building that consists of four classrooms, a library, a computer lab, several storage areas, a staffroom and an administration area. Each classroom opens up onto the verandah. In addition a Kindergarten/Pre-primary is situated within the school grounds. The school also has a separate art/technology room. The school gardens and buildings are very well maintained and this adds greatly to the general appearance of the school. The school has its own basketball courts, an ungrassed oval and pleasant shady areas. The town oval and tennis courts are within five minutes walk from the school and are readily available for school use.The Community Kondinin Primary enjoys the support of the Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association. Over the years the P&C have supported the school by providing funds for resources and projects. The P&C has been responsible for airconditioning the entire school, maintaining a well resourced library as well as the provision of a variety of other resources. The School Council is made up of parent and staff representatives and provides another avenue for community and parent involvement. | ||||
