| Kirup Primary School is a lovely, small, rural school in a desired location within close proximity to major centres in the South West. The town of Kirup is located 55 kms from Bunbury on the South West Highway between Donnybrook and Balingup. Established in 1901 Kirip Primary School is committed to the traditional values of learning, community and pastoral care, while embracing new technology, independent learning and critical thinking. Kirup Primary School provides a comprehensive education for children from Kindergarten to Year 7 in a highly supportive, family focused environment in which every child counts and where every parent's voice can be heard. Programs offered include PMP (Perceptual Motor Program), Indonesian (LOTE), Recorder, Support-A-Reader, Accelerated Reader, Virtues Project and Changing Tracks (A Group Program for Primary School Children developed around the CABCA model to effect cognitive restructuring and behaviour change). The school has an active School Council comprising four parents and two staff members. It also has a supportive and proactive P&C Association whose major highlight each year is the Kirup Exhibition. The Exhibition showcases students' school work and exhibits local produce, crafts and hobbies. An auction of donated goods raises funds which are used by the P&C to support and enrich the teaching and learning programs. At Kirup Primary School older students set a fine example for the younger children and readily provide assistance to others in the school reflecting relationships one would expect to see in a tight family setting. The school enhances these values through programs that seek to strengthen these features. | ||||
