The school was built in 1935 with additions in 1995 in harmony with the original building. Classrooms are large with high ceilings and overlook wide wooden verandahs. Many of their parents work in local businesses, medical services or educational institutions. Families have high expectations for their children. Statewide assessments consistently show a high level of academic achievement amongst the student population.

An Early Learning Centre accomodates the Kindergarten and Pre Primary students. The centre is situated approximately 50 metres from the main building. It is well resourced and provides a stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children in the pre-compulsory years of schooling.
