| Welcome to Hampton Park Primary School. It has a rich history of being a proactive and forward thinking school. This is a result of participative and consultative processes which involve the community through the School Council and the School staff through internal processes. In preparing the students of Hampton Park Primary School for the 21st Century we have sought direction from the Department of Education and Training's Strategic Plan. The major focus is for high standards of student achievement. At Hampton Park PS we will achieve this by: * Motivated and engaged students, * Motivated and capable workforce, * Inclusive, safe and stimulating learning environment, and * Orgainisational capability to support schools teaching and learning program. Hampton Park is a suburban school with a total enrolment K-7 of 375. There are 261 families represented in our student group K-7 coming from a rich and diverse cultural background. The school buildings are of two distinct types. The older section of building is constructed on a traditional plan which was commenced in the early fifties and added to over the years. The newer section of the school (which includes the addition of the library/resource centre also) is a six room cluster design. In conjunction with the Parents and Citizens Association, the school has completed a number of improvements projects including an air-conditioning program, quadrangle rejuvenation, improved playground seating and play equipment to mention a few. A Physical Education/Sports store area and undercover area assists the excellent PE program. The school has a canteen, and also has attached to it the District Dental facility. The attractive and expansive grounds of the school provide an excellent venue for sport, play and exploration alike. During 2004 the school achieved national recognition for its exemplary work in the area of values education. Its involvement in the National Safe Schools Framework and subsequent nomination to the National Quality Schools Awards reaffirms the direction and acknowledges the school's success. The whole school community shares with great pride, these achievements. In 2005 and now 2006 the continued effort made in this area will assist in all aspects of the children's education. I commend the school to you and encourage the school community to seek out the many opportunities which facilitate community involvement in setting Hampton Park Primary School's direction for the ongoing improved student outcomes. | ||||
