| OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY Greenwood Primary School commenced this year as a result of the amalgamation of Allenswood Primary School and East Greenwood Primary School. The school opened with a student population of 280 children on the East Greenwood Primary School site. Greenwood Primary School has a very experienced staff, almost all teaching staff being permanent. There are two administrative positions within the school with most staff being senior teachers. The staff is made up of 19 teachers and 16 non teaching staff. Non-teaching staff include a part time gardener (2 days), 3 cleaners, a full time Registrar, Education Assistants, School officer, Library Officers and Special Needs Assistants. The school grounds are very appealing and well maintained. There are eight classrooms contained within two building blocks, a school library and an on site pre primary. An Art Room and Music Room are located in the wet areas of the clusters ensuring that all curriculum areas are well provided for. A Kindergarten and a Transportable classroom have been added this year to cater for the increased student numbers. The administrative block has an office for the Principal, Deputy and Registrar and a large staff room. Overall the school's facilities are of a high standard and greatly enhance the educational opportunities for all students. The structure of classes in 2008 is as follows: K, PP, PP/1, Yr 1, Yr 2, Yr 2/3, Yr 3, Yr 4, Yr 5 and two Yr 6/7 classes. The parents and school community are active and encouraged to participate in all areas in the school. The School Council will participate in School Development Processes and has input into policy development and programs running in the school. The P&C is active and has ensured a canteen is operating 3 days a week. Most students progressing to Year Eight attend either Warwick or Greenwood Senior High Schools.
