| Gidgegannup Primary School was opened in 1992 and is located within that portion of the Swan Shire, which is considered to be outer Metropolitan; a rural lifestyle with a blend of old farming and new hobby farms. The school is in a very tranquil setting, being on the outskirts of town and backing onto a rural aspect. The classroom clusters are built on the contours of a hill using this elevation to advantage. An attractive garden has been developed and it would be difficult to find a more idyllic position. Recent subdivisions have caused a rapid expansion of numbers. The catchment area is rather widespread necessitating approximately 85a0of the students to travel to school by bus. The staff is committed, caring and experienced with little movement from year to year. There are specialist teachers in the areas of Technology, Music, LOTE and Library providing the varied and enriching programs being offered to all students. Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged. Involvement is demonstrated through support in areas such as the library, classrooms and sport. Participative decision-making is possible through involvement in the School Council and Parents and Citizens' Association. The School Council is actively involved with the school planning and review processes. Gidgegannup Primary School aims to enable all children to have the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to realise their full potential in life; socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically. | ||||
