Compare with all other primary schools.
Construction of Excelsior Primary School in Canning Vale (Named after an adjacent road, 'Excelsior Drive') was completed in February 2005, opening to an initial enrolment of approximately 228 students. By the end of 2005, we had over 320 students enrolled and in 2006 we have grown to over 500 students and expect to maintain this growth. Currently, our Local Intake Area comprises of the Eastern area of Canning Vale and the entire locality of Southern River. Our Students
At Excelsior Primary School, we welcome a diverse range of students from a variety of backgrounds. Despite coming from a range of different schools, states and countries, students have very quickly developed pride for their school, a positive school culture and ownership of all that happens. As families move into the area, enrolment occurs continuously and new students very quickly become welcome and active participants in the school community.

The students are taught very well. The teachers really care about the kids education and they always come home happy and saying they had a brilliant day.Gossip and rumours spread around the school very easily. It's an excellent school!

Overall:
The quality of most of the teachers is outstanding. they are involved and caring towards the students and take the time to listen to parent concernsThe school has several structural faults. There are no gutters or covered walkways between buildings, so kids are wet all winter and very little shade, so they fry in summer. the Oval needs to be resurfaced and the A block area needs grass and proper sand in the sandpits. It's a good school. Once the structural defects are fixed it will be a great school. Considering it is only 3 years old, it should not need to be fixed to the extent that it needs. It also doesn't have a canteen and the prinicpal will not look employing someone to run it.

Overall:
education level seems to be up there with private schools. Great location. The school still requires areas for extremely hot days (shaded play equipment (older kids play areas) - raining winter where do they go? Also maybe play areas like kings park ideas (wooden steps, tunnels or like to use there imaginations)Teachers seem great but as a parent I still feel that the younger children could use a greater guiding hand socially. Not all schooling is about writing and reading etc. These 1st years are supposed to lay the ground work for the following years. The children need to be happy to succeed educationally!!!!
