| Narrogin is a progressive thriving rural community in the Central South Region of Western Australia. It is a modern regional centre and enjoys a strong growth sustained through new developments and the renewed value of 'Country Style' living. It incorporates the following: * friendly and caring, with a human dimension and opportunities for everyone; * safe and healthy, with traditional country values, a relaxed lifestyle and a sense of history; and * a place with fresh air and open spaces - where you can see the stars at night. Narrogin has a high standard of infrastructure including rail, highway access, water supply, power and connection to the optical cable network. Narrogin also has a huge sporting culture and a vibrant art and music scene. We have an $8 million heated leisure pool, sports stadiums and a wet synthetic hockey pitch. This, coupled with affordable quality housing, a recently renovated modern regional hospital, great schools, supermarkets, specialty shops, hotels, and restaurants make it a great place to live and bring up children. (With thanks to the Town of Narrogin) Within this context and with its strong emphasis on Pastoral Care, East Narrogin Primary School is well situated to provide a comprehensive, balanced education for all students. We have a small, highly experienced staff who are valued by the Community, but we also enjoy the input from new graduates on a regular basis. At East Narrogin we recognise that every child is a unique individual and all staff work together to identify the needs of each child and help them achieve personal excellence. We currently have specialist Literacy, Library, LOTE, ICT and Music teachers. The School Parents and Citizens' Association is very active and supportive and parents take pride in the various projects they have completed for the school. The School Council is representative of the parent body and takes an active advisory role within the school. The school is a split-level, linear classroom design with a large, modern undercover area and separate excellently resourced Library which is fully automated. It currently houses a local area computer network stocked with 15 computers as well as 1 to 2 new computers in each classroom. The Canteen is run by the P&C and offers healthy, nutritious lunches every day. We have an on-site Pre-Primary Centre and an off site Kindergarten that is shared with the local Play Group. The school in recent years has won several different Awards for Excellence in various fields. One in particular is the Waterwise School Award in recognition of our focus on being environmentally responsible. As a result, we have developed a Concept Plan to change the physical environment of our school to reflect less concrete and bitumen and include appropriate grasses, trees and water features. This plan is supported by the School Council and P&C, who will be involved in fundraising activities to progressively complete the re-development. The School operates on a shared decision making basis and actively involves Cost Centre Managers, the School Council, Finance Committee and other relevant committees in all decision making processes at the school. East Narrogin Primary School is dynamic and exciting. Our strong emphasis on pastoral care, the implementation of innovative programs and working in close collaboration with the local community, ensures we are working towards a positive future for your children.
