Situated on the eastern end of Hamilton Hill, East Hamilton Hill Primary School is servicing a community that is changing rapidly as a result of urban renewal.

The school site is large, it has two well maintained ovals and due to its elevated position even has ocean glimpses. Gardens and playing areas are attractive and welcoming. The Fremantle/Peel District Resource Centre is due to open at East Hamilton Hill PS at the end of first term. To accommodate this centre a new library Resource and computer room has been created for the students to enjoy.

During 2006 computer equipment and playground facilities will be upgraded as a result of successful grant applications totalling $75000.

East Hamilton Hill Primary School offers a range of programs designed to meet the varying needs of its students. A numeracy specialist teacher is appointed to the school as part of the 'Getting It Right' strategy. Literacy skills are a priority, with a program to support classroom teachers improve literacy outcomes for all students.

The school also offers a program designed to improve outcomes for boys. The Boys Effective Education Program (BEEP), co-ordinated by our School Based Liaison Officer develops a sense of belonging, focussing on values and leadership skills through the use of positive role models. A feature of this program is the links made to the local community through involvement with the City of Cockburn.

The focus of extending student achievement is enhanced by the location of a Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) on site. Students who are identified are able to access PEAC on site or at a centre nearby.

Staff are keen to be part of a team striving to provide quality education opportunities to the children of Hamilton Hill. Low staff turnover and reduced class sizes provide an on going caring environment where student needs and progress are tracked by caring professionals.

Students well being is a priority. Staff ensure student needs, both educationally and emotionally are met. Our pastoral care of students involves keeping parents well informed. Parents/carers are encouraged to take an active roll in the education of their children.

The Parents & Citizens Association is active and strong. The air conditioning of the classrooms and landscaping projects are two of their recent successes. New members are always welcome. The School Council has four parent members and as the main School Decision Making Group is very active in shaping the direction of the school.

There is a strong sense of pride in the school community in relation to the school and the achievements of its students in the classroom, on the sporting field and in the community.
