The CLNP funding of additional staff has provided for additional intervention for students in Literacy this year. The school also accesses funding from the Commonwealth Literacy and Numeracy program to strengthen the programs offered to the students. A number of additional programs are offered at the school such as Kids' Breakfast Club, Pathways Playgroup, Aiming High, Aussie Optimism, Chess Club, Choir and You Can Do It! The Dryandra Primary School parent population is as diverse as the students. A supportive P&C contributes to the school. The School Council operates successfully and contributes to the school planning cycle. Similarly strong support occurs in junior primary classes for class based programs. Parent surveys and direct feedback from parents during interviews indicate parents' desire for our school to provide a safe, caring environment. The Pastoral Care policy along with the anti bullying policy is well supported by families. Clear lines of communication are provided when a child is experienceing difficulty at school either academically or socially. The school staff ensures parents are fully aware of a child's performance across all aspects of schooling. Our school is preparing children to deal with: - cultural diversity - rapid pace of technological change - the changing nature of social conditions - inter-dependence in the global economy - changes in the family structure - global environmental issues - changes in the work place - uncertain standards of living | ||||
