Compare with all other primary schools.
Doubleview Primary School is a Level 4 school in the West Coast Education District, and is situated two kilometres from the coast and twelve kilometres from Perth's central business district. Enrolments are increasing each year and currently stand at 300 students from Kindergarten to Year Seven. Approximately thirty percent of the students currently enrolled at Doubleview Primary School come from outside the school's intake area.

In the recent past the school has upgraded its facilities with automatic reticulation to the grounds, a new purpose built Pre Primary centre and the installation of air conditers in every classroom. The school also has extensive grounds (5.83 hectares) with two large ovals, cricket nets, and tennis, basketball and netball courts.

The teaching staff bring considerable experience and stability to the school and the programs offered. The school currently offers specialist programs in Music, Languages (Japanese)and a Physical Education program that includes surf awareness lessons and a beach carnival run with support from the local Scarbro Surf Life Saving Club.

Doubleview Primary School excels both academically and on the sporting fields. Competing in swimming, athletics, cross country, football and netball, the school is very competitive against opposition schools of much larger size.

In 2005 the Parents and Citizens' Association embarked on an ambitious grounds renewal project. An old Bristol building and a vast expanse of bitumen was removed from the centre of the school site and the Parents and Citizens Association worked solidly for three months installing turf, brick paving, native gardens, an amphitheatre and a new playground. The new area has become the focal point of the school and is utilised by community members after hours.

The school is very community orientated and enjoys excellent parent-teacher support. The school has a very active and supportive Parent and Citizens' Association, a motivated Parent Participation group and a hard working and effective School Council. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their children's education and are an integral and much appreciated component of many of the school's programs.

Overall:
Large Oval - when allowed to use it.. One teacher in the school is lovely, the others not so good. SIMS programe available. P&C do alot of work but are constantly battling with the School principal, who does not support most things and is rather negative and unprofessional. Very very old run down buildings and facilities. No art class's for upper school. Very limited PE program.Lack of sporting equipment. Lack of support to parents with School problems. Teachers have no accountability regarding education standards / content. I find it a 'free for all' as far as teaching goes, some important subjects like English not done for a whole term.If possible I would choose a different school. Or go private.

Overall:
The grounds are larger than any school I know in W.A. The staff are hard-working, creative and professional in the main. Caring parents involve themselves in school activities.Old buildings and slow development of facilities are a concern. Funding for such development has been sought for many years. Some parents seem to only value sporting achievements.A reasonable general education is available. As for English, it seems some adult commentators here could do with sitting in on a few year 5 lessons.
