| SCHOOL PROFILE The school is located on a beautiful three-hectare site in the heart of the Darlington village, in the hills east of Perth. Primary classes are housed in traditional linear classrooms. Two transportable early childhood buildings and a wonderful off-site building in Glen Road provide pre-primary and kindergarten facilities. Additional facilities include a library, music room and covered assembly area. A single room from the original 1912 Darlington State School is located within the school grounds. Recent additions to the school have seen the creation of extra early childhood accommodation through the conversion of two classrooms into a purpose designed centre for the Pre-primary/Year 1 classes. Planning is now well underway for a $2 million project that will incorporate the upgrade of classrooms, the library, and administration areas as well as the building of a new art room and canteen. Work is scheduled to commence during Term 3 and is expected to be completed early in 2007. This will bring the facilities up to the standard of other more modern schools in the area. Students at the school come from families where learning and education are highly valued and parents ensure their children are well prepared for school and learning. This is reflected in the standards of academic achievement and behaviour attained by most children. Seventeen fulltime and part-time teachers (including specialist teachers in Music, Visual Arts and French), an administration team consisting of the principal, two deputies and the registrar and thirteen support staff (clerical, education assistants, cleaners and a gardener/handy person) make up the school staff. The school enjoys the support and heavy involvement of a well-informed and pro-active School Council that has strong representation from the parent body and community and a committed group of parents who form the P & C. | Fantastic setting in the hills of Perth, nestled in the trees of a nice and quiet suburb. Great ties to nature, and all round a safe place for your child to learn and grow. | Parking for parents is a bit of a nightmare. Facilities are a little bit outdated, although there are works ongoing at the moment to improve them. | A fantastic school which retains the character of the suburb of Darlington, whilst focusing on teaching the kids. | ||

| This primary school is a favourite for me. The teachers were all pleasant. It's smaller than many other primary schools which gives the children a close-knit learning environment. The location is quiet. | It needs to be updated as some of the facilities are old. | Great primary school, definately a place for children to grow and learn in a happy environment. | ||
