| Dardanup Primary School is a rural school of 185 students located 20 km SE of Bunbury. The school grounds are dominated by numerous gum trees and grassed playing areas fringed by grazing land on three sides. A modern administration block; Library and undercover area/ canteen are the latest additions to the school building. Information Technology forms an integral part of our overall teaching and learning program with all classrooms being networked to enable programs such as Accelerated Reading and Accelerated Maths to reinforce basic Literacy and Numeracy skills. A professional staff display outstanding pastoral care which ensures that all students are motivated not only to attend school (96b0attendance rate) but to achieve to the best of their abilities in all areas. This emphasis on excellence and school improvement has manifested itself in state wide awards in writing, equity and diversity; finalist in the Teacher of the Year and winner of the Principal of the Year award 2003. At the district level our students have excelled in the areas of writing. music and drama. Excellent parent support contributes to the effective running of our school. Activities include officiating at all sporting events; library help; canteen organization ; helping with grounds and gardens; fundraising ;bus committee ; uniform committee ; after school sports training ; road safety committee ; helping with the local Bull and Barrel festival; P&C and School Council. Dardanup Primary has a commitment to values throughout all areas of the curriculum which has a positive impact on their behaviour at home and school. All staff, parents and students model and support the culture of mutual respect which results in a learning environment where all students feel happy, cared for and safe.
