| On 7 August 2007, after carefully considering all the issues raised in consultation period, in particular, the educational, social and financial impacts on students and their families and on school communities, the Minister for Education Mark McGowan formally announced the amalgamation of Camberwarra Primary School and Craigie Primary School. On 7 December 2007 the amalgamated school was officially named Craigie Heights Primary School. In 2008, most of the former students of Craigie Primary School and Camberwarra Primary School have continued their education in the newly amalgamated school which is temporarily housed on the Camberwarra Primary School site. Students and staff are expected to move to the new school being built on the old Craigie Primary School site in late 2009. As a new school an exciting new vision and ethos has been developed in consultation with the community. This reflects current thinking of the needs and direction for students to follow. With the amalgamation of the two schools, the combined resources of over thirty years from both schools have left this new school with a large collection of resources for student use. This has included a wireless computer network, twenty laptop computers, smart boards, larger than average collection of library resources and a comprehensive range of musical and phys ed equipment. Staff from both schools have combined to create a safe caring environment for students to learn in. Craigie Heights Primary School is expected to be a public school in the suburb of Craigie which will grow in numbers as a result of the the amalgamation and the renewal of the suburb itself. Craigie Heights Primary School has set itself to ensure that the needs of all students is met with a strong emphasis on learning in a well managed environment. The new school is making its own direction with policy development and the creation of its own unique niches educationally. The school motto is 'learning in harmony' which acknowledges the importance placed on learning in a safe caring environment. | ||||

| The principal is enthusiastic and proactive. He knows all the kids by name. The school has a strong focus on health with a lot of emphasis on healthy eating and exercise. There is also lots of emphasis on interpersonal skills, effective conflict resolution etc. | Dark and uninviting stage/undercover area. However this won't be a problem once the new school has been built, hopefully in time for the 2010 school year. | I am a lot happier with this school than the previous school my kids attended. | ||

| Early Childhood teachers are fantastic, most of them have several years of experience at this school. Gary Payne is a fine example of a good Principle - he always seems to be "there" and gets involved with everything. Next year the school is moving to a new site - brand spanking new school with state of the art facilities. | As things stand at the moment, the school itself is relatively old and run down, but still has lots of character! | It's a happy school, with happy kids, parents and teachers. | ||

| The principle Gary Payne is very approachable and takes pride in the school and is a proactive principle who is always out and about, so he knows the kids well even by name. The school is very modern and up to date as this is the new school mentioned in previous reviews. | Toilets don't have hand towels, but at least they have soap which not all schools do. | The school has a very nice feel about it and my kids are proud to wear the uniform... | ||
