| School Overview Cowaramup Primary School is situated in the heart of the South West close to nearby beaches, native bush, dairy, viticulture and tourist enterprises. The school is surrounded by large open recreational areas and a native garden, established by Ribbons of Blue, which separate the school from the new housing estate. Cowaramup is characterised by a very strong community who are very proactive in supporting not only the school but the whole community. The local businesses are very generous to the school through the Parents and Citizens Association. This group of parents meet regularly and have raised a significant amount of money for the ongoing improvement of the school's 'Activity Centre' which is a focus for music, drama and student performances. Our enrolment is 198 students from Kindergarten to year 7. In this rural area the school is serviced by 3 school buses transporting a significant number of students to and from school. The large majority of students continue their secondary education at Margaret River SHS. Further education opportunities exist at the Margaret River Education Campus incorporating TAFEWA, Curtin University and Edith Cowan University. Cowaramup Primary School has a strong focus on the Arts with students participating in many musical and theatrical events. At Cowaramup PS students can take risks in a supportive and caring environment. This confidence has seen them succeed in many areas. The school has high literacy and numeracy standards and has excelled for many years at the Interschool Athletics Carnival. The students have achieved many academic and sporting successes. The school's technology infrastructure is excellent and remains a strong feature in the school for teaching, learning and general communication. The development of new housing estates in Cowaramup will see enrolments at the school increase over the next few years. | ||||
