OVERVIEW
The current Cloverdale Primary School was established in its new facilities in 1998 after combining with Whiteside Primary School.
It is within the City of Belmont, an older, inner metropolitan suburb 15 kms from Perth's CBD.
FACILITIES
Cloverdale has twelve classrooms, two on-site Pre-primary facilities and an off-site Kindergarten. The school shares purpose built music, art library /resource, computer, canteen, enclosed undercover area, playground facilities, a canteen, conference, staff rooms and Administration areas with the on-site Education Support School. The school totals 460 students.
STAFF AND SERVICES
Cloverdale has a principal, two deputies, a registrar and approximately 50 staff. We have music, Japanese, computer, library and literacy (GIR) specialists. We utilise the services of an Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer, school nurse, psychologist, social worker and chaplain.
PROGRAMS
In addition to the usual learning programs, we offer after school sport with specialist providers two days a week and have a strong sports team.
Dance (Wakakirri), choir and instrumental programs balance sport with the arts.
BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT
The school has a comprehensive Behaviour Management Policy, based on STOP THINK DO which requires proactive and positive consequences. The policy incorporates strong anti-bullying tenants providing a friendly, secure environment for students.
INCLUSIVITY
Cloverdale Primary School aims to be inclusive, welcoming all students, respecting all cultures and religion. We integrate closely with the Education Support Centre students, combining many activities and events. School and P&C provide additional pastoral care through a breakfast program and parent support group.
ETHOS
We strive to develop skills, knowledge and confidence to achieve individual potential, encapsulated in our motto 'Aim High.'
