Located in the rapidly developing northern suburbs twenty-eight kilometres from Perth, Carramar Primary School is a new school which opened in 2005 with an enrolment of 575 students. By February 2008 enrolments have grown to 870 students. The school accommodates the individual learning needs of students from the suburbs of Carramar and Tapping.

Carramar Primary School is a vibrant community school where lasting and collaborative partnerships are being developed. It is a local selection school staffed with enthusiastic and resilient staff who are focused on the children. Students, teachers and parents work collaboratively and are well supported by the school's leadership team, the Parents' and Citizens' Association and the School Council. Every individual has a shared voice in the life of the school.

There are thirty four operational classrooms, a performing arts centre, a visual arts centre, a canteen, a covered assembly area and a newly developed school community oval.

Specialist teacher programs are provided in the following areas:

Perfoming Arts;
Visual Arts;
Physical Education;
Languages Other Than English (LOTE) - Italian; and
Music - students learn trumpet, clarinet and flute.

The vision, goals and direction of the school are fully endorsed and supported by the school community who all work together towards a shared vision, which is;

'To build a community where students, parents and teachers collaboratively work together. We will develop partnerships with our community that foster life long learning.'
