Buntine Primary School is located in the small, Wheatbelt town of Buntine, in the Shire of Dalwallinu, approximately 290 kilometres north of Perth CBD. For many years the school has been the hub of the community and has a very active and committed parent body.

The majority of students live on farms in the area and travel to school by school bus. A small number of children live in the town.

Currently the school has two classrooms, Junior K-3 and Senior 4-7, a Library, a Pre-primary and an Art Room. Each of these rooms is well equipped and resourced. Senior Room students have access to a bank of eight computers and the Junior Room students have access to four computers. This is a ratio of almost one computer to every student.

In 2005, the Administration Office was relocated to a new transportable building comprising Reception, Principal's Office, Staff Room and Interview Room. The old office is now used as a Teachers' Resource and Preparation Room.

Being in a small school, current enrolment 22, children are given opportunities to socialise with children from neighbouring schools for various activities including sports practices. Training for all sporting events is important for the school community and the school takes any opportunities offered for additional coaching clinics from outside organisations. Tennis is a popular summer sport and recently a school team was very successful in a junior tournament in Northam.

The school receives PCAP funding which covers the costs of transport and accommodation for a variety of excursions and in school visits as well as subsidising a camp each year.

Music is taught by a specialist teacher and is an extremely popular program. Skills developed in these classes are displayed at the end of term assemblies and an end of year performance which is always extremely well attended by members of the surrounding communitites.
