Bridgetown Primary School is located in the centre of the south west of Western Australia and is 300 km south of the capital city, Perth. We are close to forests and National Parks, wineries, heritage walks and trails, and some of the state's most stunning heritage buildings. The town supports local industries including tourism, farming, forestry, mining and their related services.

Our community is diverse and provides a rich basis for many people tree-changing to our town from the city. Health Services are well supported through a medical centre and hospital.

Our school has a very stable student population of 320 students.

A Pathway to Success is what our school community strive for in providing education for students at our school. Parents recognize the level of pastoral care and interest in each student as highlights demonstrated by staff at our school. This is a key feature to their success at our school. Our school also has a very inclusive culture in welcoming all students and parents as partners in their child's education.

We conduct a mentor program for students and a specialist Rock Band option for all students in Years 5-7. Our perceptual motor program is a unique provision for all students in from Kindergarten to Year 2.

Multi-age groupings in classes and at all year levels are a feature of the school. Teachers are organised in Phase of Development Teams - Early Childhood (K-3), Middle Primary (4-5) and Upper Primary (6-7) - and meet regularly to address planning and curriculum issues. Teachers also have significant leadership roles and are involved in teams that address curriculum improvement and behaviour programs. Staff turnover is minimal and this helps provide stability and enthusiasm.

Our Parents and Citizens group is very supportive and active and host an annual fete and other activities throughout the year to support playground and other facilities around the school for students. Our open night and concert are opportunities for parents to meet and enjoy their child's learning throughout the year.

Our facilities are a mix of old heritage and new buildings and have reverse cycle air-conditioning in nearly all learning areas. The school site has several split levels due to the hilly nature of our town.

Students leave Bridgetown Primary School with fond memories of their teachers and their positive experiences and often return to the school to 'catch-up' with memories of their past.
