Compare with all other primary schools.
Bayswater Primary School is located in the Swan Education District some 10 kilometres from the central CBD. The location in the City of Bayswater is only two streets from the railway station.

The school, established in 1894 was known as Bayswater State School with a Miss Mary Bell as the first teaching Principal. Since that time the school has developed considerably largely due to refurbishments for its centenary celebration, and is now located in attractive grounds with a small oval. The school's crest is the 100-year-old locomotive bell with the motto, 'Ringing True'. This bell is still used to signal the start and finish of the recess breaks and the school day.

Bayswater Primary School is a Level 4A school with a Principal and Deputy Principal. The school has nine permanent classrooms and an art-music complex. Three Early Childhood Units offering Kindergarten and Pre-Primary education are attached to the school, two being on-site and one off-site. The school's current enrolment stands at just under 320. The school has had a history of specialist programs in Italian, PE, Art and Music; however these may change from year to year.

There are many programs and features of the school that make it somewhat unique from surrounding schools. Programs that have run in recent years and some of which continue to run include: Art Therapy; Protective Behaviours Program; Roots of Empathy; GP+ Program; Virtues in Education; Swan/ECU Partnership (a strong connection with Edith Cowan University); Getting it Right Literacy and Numeracy Strategy; PEAC and Jets: and, our own in-house Radio Station 101.

The teaching staff work well as a team providing a sound education for all students. Several teachers have been attached to the school for some years and the average length of service at the school would be approximately 5-6 years. The school hosts one level 3 teacher with a number of others pursuing this achievement. The collaborative nature and team structure of the staff help contribute to an outstanding delivery of educational strategies.

A feature of the school is the parent participation in the process of devolution and school decision-making and involvement in policy determination. The school has an operational School Council and a very proactive P&C and their input is expected to continue to add value to the workings of the school. The positive interactions of the community with the staff is very palpable.
