| Ballajura Primary was established in 1989 and is located in central Ballajura. The school is fully air conditioned and well resourced. Because the early settlers of Ballajura came from the Isle of Mann, the school has developed and maintained historical links to that island. The houses of the school are named after the early pioneers and each year the connection is celebrated with a special Manx day and assembly; where descendents of the early pioneers participate. The school caters for K-6 students who come from a community with a wide multicultural background, where often English is the second language. To support these (ESL) students the school has a specialist teacher appointed. As well as their normal class lessons, students also access specialist programs in Music, Indonesian, Drama and Physical Education. The school runs a 'Virtues' program where the rights and responsibilities of all stakeholders at the school are constantly promoted and the behaviour management is based on correct choices. The school also has a very comprehensive SAER (Students at Educational Risk) program where students are tracked and Appropriate programs planned for them. | ||||
