Baler Primary School is in the Pilbara Education District and is the largest of the three schools in the South hedland area. Baler Primary School officially opened on 9th June 1975. There are currently 496 students enrolled in Baler PS from Kindergarten to Year 7. Baler Primary School is situated in lush, green, tropical gardens which are meticulously maintained to provide a welcome and tranquil environment enjoyed by all.

At Baler Primary School we aim to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence in our students to achieve their individual potential and contribute to society. Our school's success is based on building partnerships with our parents in the education of their child. Our student population is diverse which embodies our position statement 'A Sea Of Cultures'

The school implements a wide range of innovative engaging programs to cater for the needs of the students. Our focus is on Literacy, Numeracy and Science. Our specialist teaching areas for 2007 are Physical Education, Science, Library and ICT, Cultural Studies, Music and Health. The school also has a very strong pastoral care program.

The school is well catered for with 4 distinct teaching clusters. There is an on-site ECE facility with 3 transportable pre-primary buildings and a large play area. The Kindergarten program currently caters for 2 groups of students. A computer laboratory of 16 computers has been established adjacent to the library with networking and Internet facilities to create a major Information Centre which can be accessed through computers in each classroom. The school is part of the Learning with ICT Project. There is a large undercover area where assemblies and sports are held with an adjoining canteen operated by the P&C.

The School Council is made up of two teaching staff and 6 parents, meeting twice per term. The school has a very active P&C Group who works tirelessly for facilities for the students.
