| Baldivis Primary School is a bush school with a proud tradition of serving its unique rural community. The school opened on the 4th of February 1924 meeting the educational needs of two settlement groups, 50 and 54. In 1926 the P&C was formed. One of its first tasks was the renaming of the school to Baldivis Primary School. The name was created from the names of three ships that brought group settlers to the area. The BALranald, DIogenes and JerVIS Bay. A unique feature is that the district adopted the school name. In 1978, the first buildings of the present school were completed on the new site on Fifty Road. The site, surrounded by A Class reserve provides a unique country feel that embodies country values and a learning environment that is the envy of many local schools. Newly found space was short lived. Subdivision of original farms increased population. Two demountable classrooms helped resolve the problem. It was not until 1986 that three more classrooms, the Art room, the Library and Administration block were built. Today, in 2005, the school faces similar problems of overcrowding. The Kwinana Freeway extensions have freed a new generation seeking a rural lifestyle within comfortable travel time to nearby urban centres. The school's population reached 517 in 2004 requiring further transportables and a squeeze to fit in. A far cry from the new school opening in 1978 catering for 200 students. The advent of a new school at Settlers Hills has alleviated some of the crowding, at least for a short period. The P&C continue to be great supporters of the school. Each year they run the Baldivis Country Fair pulling together the community and raising considerable funds for the school. Parents are very strong supporters of their children and the school at all levels. Life for today's students is greatly different from that of the early group settlement children. Airconditioning, water coolers, networked computers and modern technologies are features of everyday school life. In recent years the school has lead the community in valuing its unique surrounds. The establishment of nature trails, the Frog Pond, Tuart Tree walk in nearby Settlers Hills and The Baldivis Children's Forest are an integral part of the school's curriculum. The Baldivis Children's Forest is the new cornerstone as children learn about caring for the bush. In partnership with Tranby College, Settlers Primary School and a range of community groups and organisations, children learn to value the environment and will be guardians for the future. Teachers and staff are very caring. High standards of academic, social, physical and emotional achievement continue to be a feature of school life for each child. Baldivis Primary School has a total teaching staff of 27, including a Principal, two Deputy Principals, 17 full-time teachers and 7 part-time teachers. Specialist positions include an Arts teacher, LOTE teacher, Design and Technology teacher and literacy/numeracy support teachers. A full-time Registrar and two part-time School Assistants provide administrative support. The school has ten education assistants, including four specifically for children with special needs. A Gardener, Library Officer and Bus Warden complete the staff. Baldivis Primary School aims to foster and strengthen links between children, staff, parents and members of the broader community through: * two way communication, * community involvement that will enrich the educational program, * keeping parents informed about student progress and educational programs and * the provision of opportunities for involvement in shared decision-making. The school motto is 'We Care.' In particular, it is considered essential to develop a broad range of skills. We prepare students to be: - Lifelong learners - Able to talk in different languages - Computer literate - Cognitively prepared for complex tasks - Politically, culturally and socially aware. The school has a multi-age groupings and straight year level groups. A traditional timetable is in place with school commencing at 8.50 and closing at 3.05 each day. | ||||

| The moto "we care" is true, all the staff are brilliant. They teach the kids respect not only for themselves, the teachers, but their peers and life in general. Our two girls have grown academically and in confidence since attending. Top school despite its huge growth in the last couple of years it still is a small freindly country school. | Parking - but we are close enought to walk! Don't knock the 4WD, I have got one. | Excellent school, wouldn't want to send my kids anywhere else | ||

The area needs more schools, and NOT for Baldivis primary school to keep expanding. Limited parking for parents.
