The small coastal community of Augusta is situated overlooking the mouth of the Blackwood River, at the southern end of the Bussell Highway, 320km from Perth. The nearest major centre is Margaret River, which is 50km north of Augusta. The larger centre of Busselton is another 45km north of Margaret River. To the east lie Nannup, Manjimup and Pemberton. The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, a few kilometres out of town, is recognised as the point where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet.

Augusta now has its own shire office. The local museum contains a wealth of local history. Recently a Telecentre has opened within walking distance of the school. The Spring Show, organised by the local community, encourages students to participate. Leeuwin Lions encourage and support a variety of school initiatives.

There is a broad range of sporting and recreational facilities funded by the community. The Augusta Centennial Hall is situated close to the school, enabling access for formal occasions, such as end-of-term assemblies and fundraising events (eg Blue Light Discos). The Police Station and Sea Search and Rescue shed is directly behind the school.

The school is situated in Allnut Terrace and currently houses six teaching areas, including a recently refurbished Technology & Enterprise room and special purpose Pre-Primary centre. It also has a Library (Webster House Library Resource Centre), a large undercover assembly area and a modern administration block.

There is a high level of community support and involvement in our school from a range of groups, businesses, families and individuals.

Extensive funds and high levels of support have been provided by the Parents' & Citizens' Association as well as other community groups to enhance the children's learning environment and provide additional resources.

Every student has access to information and communication technology, including computers, and the school has strategic plans to continue to develop skills for both students and staff.
