About Kerrimuir Primary School

Kerrimuir Primary School is located at Molbray Street in Box Hill North in VIC (Victoria). You can contact us via phone on (03) 9898 1494 or anytime via our email address at kerrimuir.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au. Kerrimuir offers a friendly, caring environment where parents and teachers take the joint responsibility for Education. We opened in 1959, when this part of Box Hill was still developing from orchards into an outer suburb of Melbourne. The post-war baby boom was still progressing, leading to expectations of a continuing population growth. This resulted in the purchase of a large allotment of land on which the school stands. When the school opened the children were mainly from an English-speaking background and from single-income families. Over the next three decades the school developed a reputation for excellence in all fields.

Today's school population includes children from a wide variety of backgrounds. The school consists of two separate concrete veneer units, which were extensively upgraded in 1997. There are established and well-equipped areas for library/information technology, art and craft and music. The large school grounds are well equipped for a range of recreational and sporting activities including a fitness track, large multi-purpose room and adventure playground. The school has established activity-based rooms for Japanese, Art, Music and a computer laboratory, with additional computers in classrooms. Computers are networked and are on the Internet.

Kerrimuir has just been allocated 500K by the state government for classroom improvements. Outstanding teachers, closenit community, large involvement from parents.Kerrimuir has previously missed out on grants to improve the school but now with 500K there is so much that can be done.A great school. A great community and a great future !!
