| Tempe Public School is an inner city school located on the flight path for Sydney International Airport. As a result it is fully air-conditioned and sound attenuated. Features of the school include: a combination of historical 1874 school buildings with the 1979 modern refurbished, rebuilt school; strong teaching and learning links with Tempe High Languages School; and extremely attractive, highly functional and fully computer networked school with modern purpose-built classrooms incorporating wet areas, kitchen facilities, internal toilets, purpose-built audio visual rooms, drama area, large internal hall and canteen, centralised library and resource room; fixed climbing equipment, a picnic area, a basketball court, large grassed and general playing areas. Currently 83% of our students have language backgrounds other than English and provision is made for study of the main community languages ie; Filipino, Greek, Macedonian, Mandarin, Tongan and Vietnamese, as well as German. The cultural, economic, social and language diversity of the local Tempe community is our school's strength. | ||||
