Our school has been proudly and successfully serving the Ryde community for 134 years. The school has historic sandstone buildings, which are on the State Heritage Internet site. These outstanding buildings are set among spacious, well-maintained grounds. The first Arbor Day planting took place here, in 1890, and many large old trees continue to flourish. The students learn in an environment that values this rich past, enriches the present, and prepares them for a constantly changing and challenging future. The chief purpose of the school is to make sure that its two core activities, learning and teaching, are carried out in an exciting, active, caring and successful way. Teaching children how to learn is the school's principal aim. Academic, cultural and social skills programs ensure every child is successful in knowing how to learn to be a better person.
