| Otford Public School is situated close to the Royal National Park, just south of Sydney. It is a small community school caring for children and preparing them for the future. The school focuses on nurturing students so that children may realise their potential in a safe, caring environment. Staff, students and parents create and maintain a happy, positive atmosphere in which to learn. Children are given responsibilities and are involved in decision making. Participation is the focus rather than competition to allow each child's individual talents to be developed. Children act with initiative, show common sense and interact with honesty, respect and creativity in an environment which values multi-age groupings. Otford Public School provides a wide range of activities for students, including interaction with other schools in sport and the performing arts. All students learn to play recorder and some learn guitar. Gymnastics is taught and a peer support program is led by year six students to develop social skills. The internet is used in each classroom and students regularly update the school's website. Student led conferences are conducted to report on student progress.
