Upper Orara Public School, 15 km west of Coffs Harbour is a caring school dedicated to providing a sound educational background for each student. This is a shared responsibility between the schools and its community. The community is most supportive of the school's endeavours and evidence of this support is found in the high level of involvement of parents at all levels of school operation. There is an emphasis placed on personal best in a co-operative, safe learning environment. A comprehensive curriculum across the six Key Learning Areas is provided with a high priority given to the attainment of skills in Literacy and Numeracy. The school offers comprehensive programs in Student Welfare, Peer Support and Support for students with Learning Difficulties. Effective use of technology and learning tools and awareness of environmental issues are features of the school.
