Leonay Public School serves an almost completely residential suburb which has experienced a declining student age population due to the aging nature of the area. Most students live within walking distance and there are no buses that transport students to the school This has led our school to have a very strong community and family atmosphere. Our staff, parents and community members recognise that by being involved and working in partnership towards common goals, our school will continue to provide a high quality education for our students. The school has very close ties with its community and has an expectation of high academic achievement and student excellence. We are continually striving "To Do Our Best" (school motto) by: improving opportunities for developing the potential of each student by providing interesting and varied programs through a curriculum that is relevant and challenging; promoting staff development at all levels; encouraging effective communication and collaboration between students, staff, parents and community; providing an environment that promotes learning and encourages pride, responsibility and participation in all areas of school life.
