| Laggan Public School offers quality teaching and learning experiences in a small school environment with small class sizes. Teachers are caring and motivated and strive to help each child reach their full potential in learning and social development. Students are encouraged to try their best and are recognised through an awards system that focuses on all areas not just the academic. Teachers are kept up-to-date with the latest training and development to best support students' learning. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and fitness activities with tennis, soccer, touch football, athletics, swimming and the 'mind sport' - chess undertaken at the competitive level through interschool sports, individual representation and team events. Coaching organisations visit the school to upskill children in sports such as soccer, cricket and touchfootball. Students can be involved in public speaking, inter-school activities and debates as well as participating in the local eisteddfod. Excursions take place to complement classroom learning and involve dramatic and musical performances, visits to the local area, sporting camps and excursions futher afield including Sovereign Hill in Victoria. The school has excellent resources with a ratio of 1 computer : 2 students and an interactive smartboard, an extensive library and separate Creative and Practical Arts Room. A specialist music teacher visits the school on a monthly basis. The school is supported by an active and dedicated Parents and Citizens Association as well as enthusiastic and generous classroom volunteers who assist with reading and tutoring.
