Situated on the outskirts of Sydney, Kenthurst Public School is in a semi-rural area where students live either on acreages or in a village environment. Most students travel to school by car or bus. The school is characterised by a warm, friendly environment and a supportive community. We expect our students to have high esteem, to strive for excellence, to be self directed learners, to have concern for others, and to be skilled in problem solving, communication, decision making and the group process. The class organisation is based on Stages or Teams rather than Years. All classes except for Kindergarten are multi-aged, with a range of students distributed in stages across two grades. This parallels the state curriculum which is presented in stages. Multi-ageing is seen to encourage and support a strong social interaction amongst all students regardless of age.
