Kempsey South Public School, in Kempsey

Details on this primary school

Make:

Compare with all other primary schools.
The School was established in 1960. The school draws its population from the rural communities of Kundabung and Dondingalong, with a small group from areas scattered across Kempsey. These children travel to school by bus and constitute a significant portion of the population. The rest of the children live within walking distance to the school. The school has spacious, attractive, well equipped grounds with an all weather basketball/netball court and a Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA). There is a fixed equipment play area, cricket pitch, large shaded tree area, extensive bush tucker gardens and large concrete areas with Aboriginal murals. Extensive work on the grounds and gardens is continually taking place. There are six modern classrooms with four older style rooms. There is an Aboriginal Resource Room with modern cooking facilities and small computer network, a modern library with Internet and CD-ROM facilities, a canteen and Hall (which accommodates K-6), an Audio Visual Room and separate computer room.
